The FIDE Women's World Team Championship took place in Mardin in Turkey 17th-28th December 2011. China beat India in the final round due to a win by Zhao Xue over Tania Sachdev. This gave China a an 8/9 win record losing just to Ukraine in Round 8. India finished outside the medals. Russia secured the silver medals after a quick draw with Armenia. Georgia beat Turkey to take the Bronze medal.
