3rd London Chess Classic 2011 (Field)

2800 club of Carlsen, Anand and Aronian coming to London

The 9 player field for the London Chess Classic will include all the players rated over 2800 in the World. It was already known that world number one Magnus Carlsen, world champion Viswanathan Anand and new invitee Levon Aronian would play. Vladimir Kramnik also has the potential to cross that barrier after closing in on the mark with his performance in Dortmund. Now the August issue of CHESS Magazine has confirmed the entire 9 man field for London. Hikaru Nakamura returns for his 3rd appearance. England's best are all there too with Michael Adams, Nigel Short, Luke McShane and David Howell.
