Carlsen heads top 10 that remains the same in FIDE May 2012 list (May)

Magnus Carlsen remains world number 1 in the May FIDE list having a rating of 2835 and played no games. Levon Aronian edged closer having gained 5 points. He will have lost a small number drawing with Kramnik but those were not included. The composition of the top 10 remains the same but the order changed because Sergey Karjakin gained 13 point in the Russian Teams to move up to 6 in the world. 45 players are now rated over 2700 including Viktor Bologan who gained 29 points. England has three players over 2700 (Adams, Short and McShane) and Gawain Jones is back in the top 100.
