Tournament of Kings Bazna 2009

Lively action in Round 5

The Tournament of Kings came alive again in the fifth round after a few draws. Vasily Ivanchuk outplayed Gata Kamsky who was defending grimly when he allowed a nice queen sacrifice that won immediately. Boris Gelfand calmly accepted Alexey Shirov's pawn sacrifice, consoloidated and advanced his pawns in the endgame for an easy win.

Scores: 1-2 Ivanchuk Gelfand 3.5/5; 3-4 Shirov, Radjabov 2.5; 5-6 Kamsky, Nisipeanu 1.5
