Taby Stockholm 2009

The Lithuanian GM Eduard Rozentalis. He tends to go his own way in the opening and avoids main lines, particularly against the Sicilian where has a good score with his pet line. It seems very ponderous but there is hidden venom as his opponent found in the following game. When Black captures a centre pawn on move seven it seems unlikely he will have to resign on move 20.

Final position after 20.Bg5+!
Rozentalis plays an unusual line of the Caro Kann Defence and bamboozles a strong opponent. White plays totally sensible moves and is soon lost, a very odd game.
