Dancing with Algorithms by IM Malcolm Pein from the Daily Telegraph

CHESS Magazine editor IM Malcolm Pein together with ECF President Dominic Lawson and subscriber Chris Flowers played AlphaZero months before its ground-breaking games were published in December 2018. The trio had GM David Howell as their advisor.

Malcolm annotates one of the games below and describes the awe-inspiring encounter. The special challenge took place thanks to the generosity of DeepMind co-founder Demis Hassabis who put the games up for auction at 2018 London Chess Classic closing dinner with proceeds going to Chess in Schools and Communities.
